Steve Marks, WHATIF Principal and Co-Manager, WG ‘88
Steve Marks has been engaged in financial services for more than 30 years in management positions with leading investment banks and asset managers.  He is part of a specialty firm raising capital for boutiques in alternatives and traditional asset management.  Steve is active in social impact initiatives focused on sustainable economic development in urban communities undergoing transition.  Steve studied in Japan at Kansai Gaidai University and speaks Japanese. He received his B.A. with honors from Brown University and his MBA in finance from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, where he was a member of the Dean’s Advisory Committee.  Steve resides in Princeton, NJ with his family.

Dawn Hines, WHATIF Principal, WG ‘91
Dawn is Managing Partner of Aventura Investment Partners, an impact investment manager of agricultural value chain companies in West Africa. She is also CEO of Hines Industries, a family-owned engineering and manufacturing firm. Dawn began her career in investment banking at PaineWebber/UBS in New York and later joined the venture capital group of Fortis Bank in the Netherlands. Dawn holds an MBA from the Wharton School and a BA from University of Pennsylvania (Economics/Mathematics). Languages spoken include: French, Spanish, Dutch and German.

Serge Devieux, WHATIF Principal, WG ‘88
Serge Devieux has more than 30 years of principal investment focused in the financial services sector across Emerging Markets. He recently retired from the International Finance Corporation (IFC) as a Client Service Leader for Financial Institutions (FIG) in Africa. He maintains relationships with banks in Morocco, South Africa, and Nigeria and supports business development in general across Africa.

Prior to his last position at the IFC, Serge managed over $3.6 billion FIG-focused private equity funds for the IFC Asset Management Company (AMC). Since he joined IFC in 2000, he led investments in LAC and Asia, including more than 40 equity transactions with a value of $1.4 billion. He also led government and client relations for the Andean Region and South Asia. He has lived and worked in Washington, Rio de Janeiro, Bogotá, Hong Kong, New Delhi and Singapore. Prior to joining IFC, he spent 12 years at the head of various financial institutions in Haiti.

Serge holds an advanced Engineering degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and an MBA from Wharton.

Raman Chadha, WHATIF India Advisor
Raman is a Senior Partner at Basant Ram & Sons (one of the oldest firms of Chartered Accountants in India). He has experience of 20 years and works on financial strategy, M&A, deal-making, India entry strategy and public policy. Assists India focused funds to invest in revenue generating infrastructure, real estate, hospitality and energy assets. Raman is a Chartered Accountant from ICAI; B.Com (Hons.) & L.L.B from Delhi University and Certified Public Accountant from USA.

Raman set up Fipra India in 2010 and is now a special advisor to Fipra a large European public affairs firm. Raman has, on several occasions, as an expert given evidence before Indian Parliamentary Standing Committees. He is on the leadership team of Alliance for US India Business.

Dr. Dale Caldwell, WHATIF Principal, WG ‘88
Dr. Dale G. Caldwell is the CEO of Strategic Influence, LLC, a management consulting firm providing strategy, operations, training and executive coaching services to public, private and nonprofit organizations around the world. Dr. Caldwell is the author of Intelligent Influence: The 4 Steps of Highly Successful Individuals and Organizations which provides the theoretical framework for his consulting practice. He began his career at Deloitte Consulting and has served as the Executive Director of the Newark Alliance and the Deputy Commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs. Dr. Caldwell received a Doctorate in Education Administration from Seton Hall University, an MBA in Finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a BA in Economics from Princeton University.

Ria Banerjee, WHATIF Principal and Co-Manager, WEMBA ‘09
Ria Banerjee is a highly experienced entrepreneur and business executive who established We Think Global, Inc. (WTG) in the year 2000.  In the last 17 years, Ria has led WTG’s programs in commercializing innovative products for clients in both the USA and the developing international markets in the biotech, pharma, analytics and medical diagnostic sectors. Ria has a BS, Engineering, in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and an MBA from the Wharton School. At Wharton, Ria was a Semi-Finalist in the Wharton Business Plan Competition for her work in conjunction with a UCLA life-science lab in biosensor technologies. Prior to the inception of WTG, Ria held several positions of responsibility in the aerospace industry in projects related to NASA at Northrop and McDonnell Douglas (Boeing). Most notable is her role as the primary software engineer for the orbiter mechanism in the International Space Station (ISS).  WTG has deep experience in driving adoption of technologies in the healthcare, IT, solar, water and other sectors.  WTG’s clients have included some of the largest companies in the world and Ria has been instrumental in developing all financial strategies, business focus and partnerships for WTG water franchise in the USA. Ria has trained extensively in classical Indian dance and music and has been the artistic director/producer of close to ten original musical theater productions - all performed for charitable or non-profit causes. Ria is fluent in the Bengali language and her passion is Tagore studies.
